Can I hire a driver for my own car?
Yes. That is exactly what Desteno does — we send a verified, trained driver to your location to drive your own car. We do not rent out vehicles; the car stays yours throughout.
How much does it cost to hire a driver for my car?
Hourly bookings start at ₹249/hour with a 4-hour minimum. A full day (8–10 hours) is ₹999, outstation trips start at ₹1,499, and a monthly dedicated driver is ₹12,000. Rates are fixed with no surge pricing.
Is my car insured while your driver is driving it?
Your car remains covered by your own motor insurance policy — Desteno does not add a separate policy on top of it. What we do is reduce risk before a driver ever reaches you: police-verified background checks, licence-class validation against your vehicle, and a practical driving test. Can I hire a driver for my automatic car?
Yes. Mention that your car is automatic when booking and we assign a driver experienced with automatic transmission. Every driver is also tested on manual transmission as standard.
Do you provide drivers for SUVs and luxury cars?
Yes. SUVs and MUVs such as Creta, Innova and XUV are handled by drivers experienced with larger vehicles, and premium or imported cars are assigned to our most senior, highest-rated drivers.
Can I hire a driver for my car for just a few hours?
Yes. Hourly booking has a 4-hour minimum at ₹249/hour, which suits errands, meetings, events, or an airport run and back.
What if the driver damages my car?
Report it to our support team immediately and we investigate the incident. Any driver found negligent or guilty of misconduct is removed from the platform.
